Functions of a keyboard

Solo performance is a very tough task for a pianist and one of the things that makes it tough is the fact that you need to hang on to rhythm timing and the melody and using a sustain pedal helps to hold notes to, normally the pianist holds the notes for the bottom notes and use the right hand to make a melody or a solo, when you need the notes hold the note longer you need the sustain pedal which makes the sound longer
Live performance the pianist might start the song by doing a solo or he could do the solo towards the end but through out the songs he needs to continue playing the main cords and blend the sound of the piano along with the other instruments. also the

MIDI data:Midi data keyboard helps you to play piano keys on every instrument that is on the logic or any other software that allows you to create music on the PC.The keyboard has two two extra faction that other keyboard don't have one of the functions is to pitch bend, you use pitch bend to turn a Major note into a sharp or a flat note, a midi controller is very useful for producing but not normally used for a live performances, but me personally I would use  to help make different melodies. It's because of this that one is able to compose using a midi keyboard. It's also useful for people who aren't gifted on the technical side of things, especially logic pro. You can't use it to produce  complex pieces (pieces that would need to go at least 3/4 octaves above middle c) but other than that, you're able to produce drum beats and other forms of sound. Also, a keyboard can be used as a kind of set, for DJ'ing
and the pitch bend also works with this. There is no difference between a MIDI keyboard or a piano-keyboard other than a MIDI keyboard does not have speakers and does not have the same range as a normal keyboard. Finally a MIDI keyboard is far more efficient for people who don't have a great understanding of using logic to manipulate different effect (for example, something like the 'reverb' application).
