The Functions Of A Piano

function of the pedals

sustain pedal - a sustain pedal lift the dampers making the sound endure more.
sustanuto pedal - the sustanuto pedal holds the notes that the pionist plays and leaves every other dampers down.
the ona corda  - the ona cord shift the the hammers hitting one string making the sound softer which is the reason why some people called it the soft pedal.

Give three differences between a grand piano and an upright piano.
there are lots of things diferent about the grand piano and the up right piano and I will briefly explain.

shape - the shape of the upright piano is more rectangular shape and smaller making it easier to carry around then the grand piano

the grand piano looks bigger with an individual look. the grand piano is more useful for live performances because it has a bigger body it has a better sound due to the amount of space that the sound has to cover within the piano. a beautiful design and a massive size is there for a reason the grand piano has a

frame: rectangular type of shape
lid, front part:
capo bar (3) Capo bar is where the beginning of the sound starts to vibrate
damper (4)damper lift to take when the pianist hits the key
lid, back part (5)when open you can hear a clear bright sound, when closed the high frequency gets taken out and all the lower part stands out.

string: it makes the sound of the piano

the keyboard

the keyboard has many functions especially  in the 21st century, now we have synths Midi controller electric drums that has the some basic function to a keyboard I will give a short description of how keyboard works

The keyboard works by extreme well recorded sound, it is programmed to make sound on each key and each key has a recorded tone of the piano organs and other classical instruments. keyboards are very using in today modern society  whether your learning to play a piano or you want some organs on playing the melody in your band having a keyboard is very useful

Playing key
when pressing the key on the keyboard you can control the speed by playing fast or slow. unlike a piano pressing really hard on a keyboard does not have a massive effect on the sound because the sound on the piano is an hammer hitting against the string within the piano.

Midi
midi has to be one of the most useful piece of equipment for producing today and from the first design till now they still work the same, they react to midi data and are really small having a midi does not take space and can be used in live performance the  same way as another instrument.

Playing Midi
when using a midi controller you can effect the sound by playing really fast use modulation to vibrate the sound and change the pitch by dragging the pad down or forward to change the pitch when pressing the key.
