Listening: Style 4

Q1: Describe the harmony in this song. (Try and describe the pattern even if you cannot pick the chords - eg.

The first chord lasts for two beats then it changes to a chord that last for 8 bars). Is the pattern familiar at all?

what this song has that made the hormany is the bass line holding the note the same note for about 16bars the guitar done the same thing as the bass but the guitarist was doing cords on the guitar and the bass player played a lower optive note to make it hormanize.what this song has 3 guitar playing different parts one of the guitars plays with the rhythm they bend the notes

Q2: well this song has elements of blues but the song it self isn't the reason for this the reason for this is because the drums is at a standard 4/4 song structure. the song also don't have a improvised vocal line the singer in the song sings the hole song in one specific note, another difference is that the song is not slow it goes about 120-130 B.P.M and it has cords playing through out. What this song has that a 12 bar blues has is that the they both has a blue scale bass line, it has a guitar playing around the blue scale and it has a harmonica doing sliding with the guitarist bending notes.

  1. For question 1, give a description of how often the chords change! If you can figure out what the chords are that's even better but not essential.
